Kluitman Publishers survive after the Holocaust

Ruth Gruener is only five years old when Germany invades Poland. As a Jewish family, she and her parents are in constant danger and have to go into hiding for years. Ruth and her parents manage to survive the war and are overjoyed to be free again, but struggle to get their lives back on track. Now that they no longer have anything to do in Poland, they leave for America for a new start. There, Ruth continues to fight the nightmares and flashbacks of her life during World War II. Survival after the Holocaust is not only the moving story of a Jewish girl in World War II, but also shows the difficulties someone faces in the long aftermath of a major trauma. Ruth Gruener is the wife of Jack Gruener, the main character in the book The Boy Who Survived Ten Concentration Camps.
