Instead of the eccentric clamping principle developed for road bikes over 80 years ago, the clamping force on the RWS is built up by tightening a screw connection with a lever. The lever can be set in any position by axial lifting and turning. Operation is very simple: tighten the scanner as tight as possible by hand by turning the lever clockwise (min. 15 Nm hand force). Depending on the frame or fork construction, this can also be done by flipping the lever several times. Then lift the lever and turn it to the desired position - the wheel is securely and firmly mounted. Because there are no plastic parts in the force flow of the RWS, the clamp force is temperature-independent and therefore the RWS is 100% disc brake-compatible! Due to the direct transmission of the leverage force to the thread, the RWS can achieve up to 50% higher clamp force than existing eccentric quick clamps. This is not only more secure, but also increases stiffness, which is particularly noticeable with disc brakes.
